چکیده
The Hulong hybrid grouper was bred from the brown-marbled (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) ♀ and giant (E. lanceolatus) ♂, combining advantageous traits of both parents. Possessing an excellent performance, this hybrid’s cultivation promotes development industry. Its male parent, grouper, possesses fastest growth largest body size among all coral-reef-dwelling fish. This species is not only economically important in marine aquaculture, but it also ideal parent interspecific crossing species. In present study, a high-quality chromosome-level genome constructed with total length 1.06 Gb, consisting 24 chromosomes 69 scaffolds. To analyze genetic differences between parents structural variations (SVs) parental genomes were detected, 46,643 SVs obtained. High-quality SNPs identified resequencing data. There significant two genomes, average FST reached 0.685. A 234 highly differentiated regions detected > 0.9. protein-coding genes involved significantly enriched metabolic pathways, including fatty metabolism, carbohydrate amino acid metabolism TCA cycle. These may be related to feeding preferences ability digest carbohydrates under natural conditions. addition, cell cycle p53-signaling pathway detected. play roles regulation performance. research provides genomic resources for further breeding works evolutionary analyses.

Backcross breeding between TGGG hybrid grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus E. lanceolatus) and giant grouper (E. lanceolatus)
This paper reports on the first successful backcross breeding between TGGG hybrid grouper and GG in captivity. To establish a seed production technique for this new backcross grouper, eggs and larval development were observed. Three successful spawning was observed in November 2018, September 2019 and November 2019. The eggs were collected using stripping methods and the sperms were collected u...
متن کاملComparative Transcriptomic Study of Muscle Provides New Insights into the Growth Superiority of a Novel Grouper Hybrid
Grouper (Epinephelus spp.) is a group of fish species with great economic importance in Asian countries. A novel hybrid grouper, generated by us and called the Hulong grouper (Hyb), has better growth performance than its parents, E. fuscoguttatus (Efu, ♀) and E. lanceolatus (Ela, ♂). We previously reported that the GH/IGF (growth hormone/insulin-like growth factor) system in the brain and liver...
متن کاملSusceptibility of farmed juvenile giant grouper Epinephelus lanceolatus to a newly isolated grouper iridovirus (genus Ranavirus).
A ranavirus was isolated from the diseased farmed groupers (Grouper iridovirus in genus Ranavirus, GIV-R), Epinephelus hybrids (blotchy rock cod, Epinephelus fuscoguttatus ♀×giant grouper, Epinephelus lanceolatus ♂), in Sanya, Hainan, in July 2013. In this study, susceptibility of farmed juvenile giant grouper E. lanceolatus to GIV-R was determined by intraperitoneally injection. The cumulative...

Histological assessments on the intestinal morphology and immunity of tiger grouper juveniles, Epinephelus fuscoguttatus help in determining the earliest age to start an oral vaccination. This study describes the morphological development of the intestinal immunity of tiger grouper of various ages. Clinically healthy tiger groupers were selected and divided into 4 groups of 20 fish per group. G...
متن کاملCharacterization of 10 novel microsatellite loci for the brown marbled grouper, Epinephelus fuscoguttatus (Serranidae).
Epinephelus fuscoguttatus is a commercially important marine fish species in southeast Asia. Due to overfishing and water pollution, this species has been declared as near-threatened. Thus, to provide information to help maintain and preserve the species, microsatellites were developed, using an enriched genomic library method. Thirty individuals were collected from the hatchery of the Fishery ...
